For the last couple of weeks, this site has been undergoing some changes. Yes, it looks different, but that’s not the biggest change. This site has been converted from a Drupal 7 site to a WordPress site.
That’s right, I’m going WordPress.
Over the last year or two, we (at Thrive Creative Labs) have been mulling what to do going forward. We’ve loved Drupal 7 since it came out, but 8 has become a different CMS. The tech is different, the community has become ultra-developer-y (and smaller), and, while many of the changes in Drupal 8 are for the better for Drupal, they’ve made a steep learning curve even steeper. I’ve been building Drupal sites for almost a decade and it’s a different world looking at the development of Drupal 8 sites.
So we surveyed the landscape and saw an opportunity to move to a platform that is committed to keeping the development process approachable.
I’m going to try to re-commit to writing on this site as well, so feel free to hold me to it as I explore the world of WordPress!
